In this paper, we present the preliminary results of the research undertaken with the parents and/or legal guardians that participate in the Reader s Circle created at the Humberto Tejera Bolivarian School during the 2004-2005 school year. The paper is based on real and natural data, with the purpose of proving how parents from diferent socioeconomic contexts can interact socially, expressing and analyzing strategies that benefit the creation of autonomous readers and thus contribute to the work done at the school. The results show that the benefits that result from incorporating family into school
