The following article presents a collaborative pedagogical experience directed to the need of generating favorable attitudes toward promoting meaningful amount of English texts reading in a 9th grade group of high school students from their mother tongue reading abilities. To achieve this, English reading and comprehension was promoted by cooperative learning, and some text-interaction motivational activities were designed for the students according to their needs and preferences. Action-research was used as methodology, which induces teaching change based on reflective processes supported by systematic observation, competent English readers’ development stimulation strategies design and evaluation. The students participated in authentic reading, writing and oral language activities which resulted in a favorable attitude towards the English language and cooperative work
