Abstract

This study synthesizes the results of a research which main goal consisted on identifying the processes of cognitive construction and the dimensions of the transversal axis Values expressed in its pedagogical operationalization on the second stage of Primary Education. The theoretical platform is marked in the proposal of curricular reform of transversal axis made by the Ministry of Education (1998) and the approaches to theoretical values such as Cortina (1996), Sacristán and Gómez (1994) and Lucini (1994). The research design is marked in qualitative procedures, in which information gathering was done using a non-participant observation technique through an observation guideline protocol. Actual teachers from the schools and students involved in the second stage of Primary Education were included as informants. Among the most important conclusions we highlight that the transversal axis Values must be integrated and impregnate the entire school activity, as well as all academic areas.
