Abstract

MARQUEZ, Emilia  and  ANZOLA, Myriam. Representation of thought in excluded teenagers: Power to overcome social vulnerability.. Educere [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.40, pp.89-99. ISSN 1316-4910.

This study presents the preliminary analysis of a research oriented within qualitative methodology, action-participative research, which aims to understand the nature of meanings built by students excluded from the formal system, with ages from 14 to 19 years old, from a marked socio-cultural disadvantage. The methodological frame of the proposal pretends also to develop a theoretical-practical corpus to support educational mediation activity in alternative teaching centers for groups of vulnerable teenagers and young people. For that, categories adjusted to cognitive-linguistic abilities are analyzed, and formal thought descriptors are identified in the elaborations produced by the study group structured in written records, verbal interactions, free productions, expositive texts, where cognitive activity and strategies of formal thought are evidenced.

Keywords : Formal-logical thought; vulnerable teenagers; exclusion; resilience; thought strategies.
