Abstract

Within the context of deep changes that afect modern societies, the role played within the development processes of factors diferent from the material capital it is growingly acknowledged, and the fundamental importance of other forms of capital is discovered: human capital, social capital, relationship capital, and competences such as the capacity of undertaking tasks. How can schools contribute to the formation of these competences? In this article a recent experience of strategic alliance among diferent actors in the Canadian province of Quebec is presented -cooperative movement, teacher's union, Ministry of Education, University- in favor of the development of competences of undertaking tasks and students' cooperation.
