The aim of this paper is to present a historical outline of Santiago de Cali University based on authors such as Habermas, White, Harris, Gadamer and Castoriadis within a context of complementary dialogic logic. The institution’s history has been divided in four periods (founding partners, the co-government, quasi management and the New University Path period) according to the substantial changes that have been detected in Santiago’s imaginary. Each period is described with its main characteristics.
