Abstract

MASSE NARVAEZ, Carlos Eduardo. State and university autonomy, mercantilization of knowledge and education in the neoliberalism. Educere [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.41, pp.387-395. ISSN 1316-4910.

This paper tries to show a state disintegration process, which theoretically we call social un-institutionalization. The State is conceived, in its neoliberal lining, to be in a real paralysis of its “task” and unable of performing in favor of the citizens. Such vision and action insides negatively in the public university; the neoliberal policies in education matters, in general and in higher education in particular, openly infringes university autonomy and “take down” all education development in our countries. This is we are in favor of an attitude change to deal with liberalism by today’s university actors.

Keywords : neoliberalism; State; university; education; concrete utopia; academic capitalism.
