Resumen

RODRIGUEZ TRUJILLO, Nacarid. The path of the bolivarian schools’ project. Educere [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.42, pp.563-574. ISSN 1316-4910.

The Bolivarian Schools’ Project emerges in Venezuela as “flag project” given its priority within the policies for the educational sector from the government which initiated its administration in 1999. After almost nine years of existence, we present a study on its background, origins and path, based essentially in the analysis of written documents. Apart from an exhaustive search of sources, people linked to its beginnings were interviewed, as well as direct observations in one of the first schools created. The analysis of the information led to the identification of national backgrounds, the circumstances around its creation and to characterize three well-defined stages in its development, which we denominate: experimental, sustainable growth and declination. A balance of the achievements and difficulties is presented based on the few evaluations done up to the present.

Palabras clave : Bolivarian schools; educational project; full time; Venezuela.
