For a long time we have believed, within the core of children teaching, that we have overcome the questions regarding the initialization of reading. The psychogenetic research has shown us in detail the role boys and girls play in this process. We thought that with this scientific knowledge we would overcome the problem of transmisive methods to teach how to read, but unfortunately that has not been the case. In new teachers generations it is not uncommon to hear... And now, how do I teach how to read? This is why this article pretends to put on the table the knowledge about hoe the written language is learnt, how reading is conceived, how this knowledge has questioned old methods, and finally, pointing out: how do we teach, then?
