Abstract

TOVAR, Rosa María. Training as reader and writer: A chalenge for the teacher. Educere [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.44, pp.109-116. ISSN 1316-4910.

Evidently, teachers need to be readers and writers so they can promote these processes in their students. Therefore, this study aims to promote the education of a group of teachers in Basic Education as users of the written language through revising, reflecting and transformation of these processes. Such study is oriented under the qualitative approach with a research-action design, using non-structured interviews and the analysis of written documents as techniques. It was developed during the 2006-2007 school year, obtaining these results from the teachers: reflecting on their reading and writing processes, promoting the knowledge of their process as readers and writers, participating in an environment that allows the contact with various written material, promoting cooperative work with their peers and developing a personal didactic. In conclusion, they were able to evolve in their experience with reading and writing.
