Abstract

LEON SALAZAR, Aníbal Ramón. Structure and conceptual base of the Bolivarian Educational system’s curicular design. Educere [online]. 2009, vol.13, n.45, pp.399-414. ISSN 1316-4910.

This paper studies, through content analysis, the proposal of the Bolivarian Educational System’s curricular design presented for public discussion in September 2007 by the National Government. This design will replace the 1997-98 national basic curriculum. The analysis discovers a group of categories that build the context of the proposal: aims and principles, goal, structure and delimitation of the Bolivarian Educational System, structure, and conceptual base: the concept of education, knowledge and learning, society, human being, the boy, the girl, the teenager; creation of awareness, the idea of change and transformation, the old and the new. This proposal is built on Simon Bolivar’s speeches, Simon Rodriguez’s analysis and stance, Ezequiel Zamora’s proclaims, Prieto Figueroa and Belen Sanjuan’s proposals and reflections. The search for the native is proposed, the ethnic and cultural roots of the country and new education ways, in which the student assumes important leading roles, becoming the center of attention in the design of learning experiences.

Keywords : Bolivarian Educational System; structure; curricular design; knowledge; learning; reform; transformation.
