QUERALES, Marvin; SANCHEZ, César y QUERALES, Marisel. Dyslipidemias in a apparently healthy adults group. Salus [online]. 2013, vol.17, n.1, pp.7-11. ISSN 1316-7138.
Dyslipidemias are an essential cardiovascular risk factor in the development of atherosclerosis, taking a high incidence at the moment and it is one of the main centers of action in clinical metabolic control of the susceptible subjects, including apparently healthy individuals. It was raised, the aim of this study was to evaluate the frequency of dyslipidemias in a group of apparently healthy individuals in order to provide data for the promotion of early diagnosis and timely treatment of risk factors for CVD. We evaluated 100 patients with ages between 18 and 50 years old, whom they found triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol (HDL-c), LDL-cholesterol (LDL-c) and atherogenic index of Castelli I and II. The dyslipidemia more common in the studied group was hypercholesterolemia (43%), followed by hypertriglyceridemia (32%), and decreased levels of HDL-c (31%). It was observed a low frequency in the increase in the atherogenic index and mixed dyslipidemia (18%). In conclusion, the reported percentage of dyslipidemia suggests to strengthen the design and implementation of preventive programmes to reduce the incidence of not only these biochemical alterations but also the rest of modifiable risk factors leading to cardiovascular disease.
