The thesis plays an important role for the medical graduates that develop research skills in the field of science and innovation. The objective was toassess what medical graduates think about the process of making the thesis. Methodologically, the research design was univariate with apast evolutionary perspective. Sampling was taken with circumstantial volunteers, in two different moments, within 10 years: year 2002 and 2012. The results indicate that thesis must be done in the 5th year of the career with a fixed schedule. Also, they stated that tutorial sare extremely important. Graduates, as well, believe that statistical analyzes were mostly done with the help of a methodological tutor. The biggest limitation to the assistance of tutoring was the subject Community Medicine in the year 2002 and matching schedules in 2012. Research is important and extremely important for the physician in the two cohorts. In conclusion thesis must be done with fixed schedule classes. Research is very important for the physicians professional life and for obtains it; it requires the contribution of both specialist and methodological tutoring. Also it is important, the contribution of the thesis in the role of the researcher. There are negative experiences that require the review of the construction process of the research.
