Resumen

MENA, Osmarys et al. Multiple genotypes infection Human Papilloma Virus in patients attending private practice of the municipality Naguanagua. Salus [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.3, pp.14-19. ISSN 1316-7138.

The Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is one of the most common diseases of sexual transmission, according to the cancer risk is classified high and low risk, with the first possibly carcinogenic to humans. Most patients exposed express a single genotype but found cases where there are two or more subtypes, which could lead to an increased risk of developing cervical cancer. The review of cases with positive cytologic diagnosis and pathology of HPV infection, with positivity to PCR (polymerase chain reaction) was proposed. The 950 patients who underwent PCR cervix or swabbing the cervix are evaluated. We conclude that the entire sample studied 99% were positive for HPV (p 0.01), 50% had genotype PCR considered high oncogenic risk, 15% of them expressed multiple infection by two or more strains (31 and 6 the most common), and only one of the patients had positive 31, 45 and 6, epithelial changes compatible to LIE (intraepithelial lesion) high degree. For HPV typing by PCR in combination with pathologic examination, additional tests are important in diagnosing the disease as possible to determine the severity of it to clarify its oncogenic risk depending on the genotype HPV detected in relation to the type of histological lesions observed.
