LOPEZ CALDERA, Mayra. A thoughtful look on management and public health from the paradigm of complexity. Salus [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.22-25. ISSN 1316-7138.

This article is the result of a bibliographical review, addressed from the paradigm of complexity, in which a reflexive theoretical interpretation of the processes of management in public health, in the era of post modernity or globalization, is carried out. It poses the new challenges of public management to achieve sustainable human development, where wellness and equity prevails, in order to guarantee the conservation of the environment and ecosystems, the preservation of cultural and biotic diversity, as well as a comprehensive health of the community. Public management at present should be characterized by forming multidimensional structures that articulate in a dialogical way the association of several aspects starting from complex thinking approaches. In the organizational complexity of the new management, the currents of complex thinking conceived from the point of view of transdisciplinarity are emphasized, hence that state policies, public and private institutions, and most importantly, citizen participation, must interact synergistically in order to achieve a sustainable and equitable social development for the community, where its interaction with the environment is harmonious, establishing a symbiotic, balanced and beneficial relationship between humanity and the environment that provides benefits for both. Public management today must be characterized by forming multidimensional structures, articulating dialogically the association of several aspects, from the transdiciplinarity and complexity that enhance complex thinking approaches.
