The purpose of the study was to understand the aspects or categories that can guide the reconceptualization of peace in Colombia, for this purpose the visions and interests of the communities of the department of Nariño who participated in the study are taken; The research was carried out from a mixed approach, through the historical-dialectical method and the research techniques used were documentary review, semi-structured interview and survey, in that sense, 403 surveys and eleven semi-structured interviews were applied in the study. The results made it possible to recognize that the aspects and principles to be taken into account for the reconceptualization of peace are the integral presence of the State in the territories, access to and guarantee of social rights, human dignity and social justice, construction of a participatory democracy, active and protagonist participation of citizens in the construction of peace, political training, plurality, structural transformations, education for peace; In addition, according to the results obtained, it is concluded that it is necessary to build a conceptualization of peace that is not purified of the concrete reality, of political society, that is based on the interests and visions of the different social sectors, in order to advance towards the construction of real peace.
