Abstract
ALTUVE Z, Magaly. El primer trienio del siglo XXI y las condiciones bajo las cuales se educa. SAPIENS [online]. 2005, vol.6, n.2, pp.37-52. ISSN 1317-5815.
Social facts both as a whole and in their interactions make up the social reality in which man dwels, and which conforms the entity designated as society. Being a creation of man, society is a cultural product, thus pointing to an interrelationship and interdepedency between society and culture, and together they make up the sociocultural framework in which the educated human being inserts himself. In this framework prevail specific conditions that influence and determine education, based on the societys degree of development and consequently the development of its culture. These conditions provide the distinguishing features of each historical moment and, depending on the occasion, the assigned reach: world, regional, national, local and institutional, as well as the dimensions on which the educating action should be centered. Based on these perspectives, the existing circumstances in developed and underdeveloped societies are very different, and these differences are significantly perceived also in their education, since the latter is provided in a favourable social context for the first case and in one not so favourable, or somewhat favourable in the second. However in the XXI century if the more developed societies wish to maintain and increase their development and the lesser developed wish to attain it, they have to foster, promote, protect and support education, providing it with the conditions necessary to achieve its goals and objectives.
