Abstract
RONDON, Ali E.. Macbeth, Blood Throne and Bloodletter: The dawn of integrity.. SAPIENS [online]. 2006, vol.7, n.1, pp.59-68. ISSN 1317-5815.
Violence can be considered an aesthetic resource instead of only a moral subject. Incorporated to cinematographic representations, violence is truly enjoyable. However, is the violence unleashed in films an aesthetic resource lacking any moral dimension? Along this essay the theme of violence present in Shakespeares Macbeth is studied approaching Orson Welles stage version for Broadway; discussing Akira Kurosawas Kumonosu-Djo set in 12th century Feudal Japan and analyzing the ethical function of murder during the bleak days of Cipriano Castro and Juan Vicente Gómezs dictatorships portrayed in Sangrador by Leonardo Henríquez.
