The present investigation pursues to analyze some of the theoretical foundations of sustainable development, higher education and the productive sector, as well as to characterize the predominant ecodevelopment of the Rafael Urdaneta Municipality and to make diagnosis of the existent strategic alliances between the University and the productive sector in the region under study. The study will finally produce a Theoretical Model based on a type of ecodevelopment that will promote Strategic Alliances between the University and the productive sector in the framework of a Sustainable Development. Thus the study used projective research in its field work modality and the research methodology applied was phenomenology, using data gathering techniques sych as: observation, interviews, analysis of documents. Furthermore the categorization-analysis-interpretation process was used to produce the integral vision of the studied reality.
