The study propose to analyze the performance ofthe university teachers, considering the triad teaching, investigation and extension in the context of the knowledge society. From this point of view the study lies in the qualitative paradigm, the hermeneutic method, based on documentary sources and field sources, using data collection techniques: interviews, observation, and document analysis. The key informants were five teachers from an institution of higher education in the military sector, selected intentionally. For the analysis of the obtained information we used the categorization and triangulation. We concluded that there is not equitable treatment of the three university functions neither in the rules nor in the performance. It favors the teaching, the investigation and extension meets fairly done very little. It recommends the integration of substantive and dynamic universitary mission trio.
