CARTAYA, Scarlet; PACHECO, Henry; MENDEZ, Williams  e  CARRERA, Juan. Validation of the additive compensatory technique for measurement of variables which intervene in the genesis of mass removal processes. SAPIENS [online]. 2010, vol.11, n.1, pp.13-30. ISSN 1317-5815.

The purpose of this investigation was to use the geographic Information System tool(GIS) and the Additive Compensatory Technique (ACT), to assign measurement to the variables which involve in the activation of processes of removal in mass. To comply this purpose, we intentionally selected a total of 50 investigators from various national institutions to which we asked to complete a matrix of measurement with the variables of interest. We observed a tendency to assign greater percentage to the variables geology and slope of the land with 30% each. The second option corresponded to the forms of relief with 19% and the third and fourth hierarchies to the vegetal cover and the conflicts of usage with 15% and 5% respectively. The application of ACT proved to be a complementary alternative to the semi analitical explicit method for assigning measurement to the variables involved.

Palavras-chave : Additive compensatory techniques; processes of removal in mass; statistical validation; intervening variables; geographic information systems.
