Abstract

GARCIA MEDINA, Carlos. Challenges of human rights in the XXI century: the indigenous peoples. SAPIENS [online]. 2010, vol.11, n.1, pp.31-46. ISSN 1317-5815.

This article analyzes some points on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, then examines the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, doing emphasis on the indigenous peoples of Mexico. Another important aspect is the new relationship of the Mexican State in relation to the ethnic groups, and finally, takes up news stories to see the current situation about indigenous peoples of the Oaxaca State, in Mexico. In general, the supports for indigenous areas are very focused and do not reach the bulk of them.
