The purpose of this paper is to establish the relationship among, investigation citizenship and education, and provide training and organizational strategies to achieve efficiency in public spaces and the rescue of the social function of the university. The method used was documentary, which allowed to study each of the topics presented. Thus, it highlights the role of the investigation in social contexts which generates citizenship, considering the investigation as support of public activity and educational policy. The results suggest that the investigation is a catalyst factor of change in public contexts where citizenship is organized and formed to rethink the social contract between citizenship and the state, because in a plural citizenship is feasible to activate processes of application which lead to the solution of fundamental problems of communities, but also to strengthen and promote innovative proposals of social and educational transformation.
