Abstract

From the critical pedagogy to the pedagogic discourse. SAPIENS [online]. 2012, vol.13, n.2, pp.139-152. ISSN 1317-5815.

This article is a literature review whose purpose was to make a theoretical approach to lead to the creation of definitions and conceptualizations on issues of relevance for teachers of higher education, such as pedagogy, critical pedagogy, discourse and pedagogic discourse. It represents an outline of the traditional schools, were the first ideas on the critical studies began and then were linked to the pedagogy. Whenever critical pedagogy advocate the formation of citizens able to intervene in the society of their time for the release of inequalities, it is important to show the links that can be established between these ideas and the pedagogic discourse. And, every teacher must have this in mind, because they are committed to the training of professionals who will later be responsible conducting institutions and teaching processes, with the ultimate aim of transforming the society to the demands of this century. The ideas presented here are aligned with the concepts of Freire (2004); Giroux, (1990); Dewey, (1989); Cassany (2008); Otaola, (2010); van Dijk (2001); Wodak (2003) among others.

Keywords : pedagogy; Critical pedagogy; pedagogical discourse speech.
