Social pertinence is actually considered as one of the proposed principles as a conceptual support to orientate curriculum in higher education institutions, as well as integrating Research, Teaching, Extension and Management functions. It establishes an adequate correspondece between academic formation an the technical and social needs which graduates must approach in their professional work, therefore it focuses towards the search, validation and proposals of social-cultural and techno-scientific solutions feasible in the future. In this perspective the present study was oriented to the analysis of social pertinence of graduates from “Dr. Witremundo Torrealba” Medical School at University of Carabobo. Within the framework of public health policies of the Venezuela State. To do this, a reserch view was adopted, where Ethnography, Hermeneutics and perpective acting-research were linked each other. The study brought together key informants (teachers) and protagonist informants (graduates), involced with differents health sectors and services from Aragua State. The informants were interviewed in depth, their own testimonies allowed us to build a representative image about the studied phenomena. We concluded that medical-professional formation have social pertinence as an evidence in the roll played by graduates; thus the school has been adjusting its formation program to the health policies in orden to cover social demands, but a permanent evaluation of the study plans is required in orden to optimize the medical school-society relationship.
