The objective of this study was to carry out a theoretical revision to show the complexity of the work performed by the teachers at the level of primary school, the dangerous conditions in which the educational activity is developed, and the impact they have in the health of these professionals in order to envision these problems so that the actions in the occupational health sector can be oriented. The revision makes clear that the study of the teachers' work conditions has been a recent concern in Venezuela and internationally. These professionals are exposed to multiple dangerous factors in the school environments. Regarding health problems, the one which has been studied the most is the mental health, and the least one is that of voice anomalies. As a final reflexion, the teachers' work at the level of primary school represents a complex task with multiple dangerous factors which attempt the health of these professionals. It is necessary to present the problem to the employers, labor unions, workers and the institutions in charge of the health and safety at work so they can define policies to protect the physical and mental health, and the social aspects of this labor sector.
