This investigation aims to determine the attitude assumed by the teachers of II stage of the National Basic Schools in "Caña de Azúcar" from Municipality Mario Briceño Iragorry, Aragua state, in its guiding role in AIDS prevention. It was framed in the modality of investigation of field descriptive research, supported by a non- experimental documentary investigation. The sample consisted of 44 Teachers.. A structured questionnaire was applied to them in three parts , consisting of questions presented in scale Likert type. It was validated to measure the variables. To determine its confidentiality a pilot test was applied to ten (10) subjects. For the items related with knowledge dimension and etiology were analyzed using of the statistical test of Kuder-Richarson-20 (KR20= 0.82); for the items related with the dimension attitude, was used Crombach's Alpha (a = 0.79), proving that the Teachers possess extensive knowledge on the subject, readiness in relation to the help they can give to a person infected with AIDS , But it was evident in some of the respondents the existence of taboos that expressed in the rejection to people who suffer this disease. It is recommended to adapt the objectives of sexual education to foster in the student, in their families and in the general community prevention of sexually transmitted diseases especially AIDS and also that the student comprehends the needs of each individual
