This article presents a reflection on the quality of life of older adults in Colombia, from the measurement model and explanation proposed by Schalock and Verdugo, in which three themes are proposed: independence, participation and social welfare. Each of these axes compiles the dimensions of quality of life. It is expected (with these reflections) to contribute to understanding and meeting the real needs that this age group presents, with the central aim of contributing to the achievement of a better quality of life.
