The loss of renal function is a life threatening disease, it's management is complicated and has always been a challenge for the health staff members, given that the number of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease in dialysis is increasing, having high rates of non-compliance, the risk of mortality and hospital stance is becoming a concern in public health. Therefore, the review seeks to research the sanitary impact of non-adherence to medication in renal replacement therapy. Research was done on data of Pubmed, Scielo, ScienceDirect, Redalyc using the terms as MESH (peritoneal dialysis, adherence, renal dialysis). The effectiveness of a treatment depends on numerous factors; however, the mutual collaboration between the patient and the health caregivers is highlighted. Published research - regarding the patient compliance to renal dialysis - have shown that the patient's commitment is low, in which increases the risk of mortality and hospitalization in both patients, either hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis ones. After bibliographic research and manuscript redaction, it's concluded that, the Renal Replacement Therapy compliance is low and it has become necessary to intervene with complex strategies that involve different factors that affect the patient compliance.
