Contamination with eggs and cysts from Ascaris lumbricoides and Giardia lamblia parasites were assessed in vegetables crops from the locality of La Lagunita, La Puerta, Trujillo State, Venezuela, using washing and sedimentation procedures. Parasites isolated and identified were then compared with those contained in feces samples from the school population and domestic animals in the neighbourhood. In spite of the incidence of infection in children and domestic animals, 80 samples of the type of plants watered by spraying, did not appear contaminated with the parasites most common in the locality.
