The insects were captured during the night, attracted by the light, from the inside and outside of two dwellings surrounded by a dry forest at 1100 m.a.s.l., in the town of Chiguará, Sucre municipality, Mérida state (Venezuela). The specimens found were adults not infected with T. cruzi. The epidemiological significance of this finding is discussed.
