Abstract

GORROCHOTEGUI, Alfredo. Movies in the Creation of Knowledge in Business Education: Case Study with the Film, The Chorus. Enlace [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.2, pp.83-94. ISSN 1690-7515.

This paper describes the experience of using a movie ("The Corists") as a didactic resource for teaching personal leadership, to a group of workers in a food industrial organization. The goal is to prepare them for a later comprehension of a specific model of leadership competence. Before watching the film, a questionnaire was given to them, in order for them to answer the questions after the movie; there was a question on technical characteristics. Based on the answers of two of the participators, we analyzed how they appreciate the leadership behavior seen in the characters of the developing story and their conclusions that will help in the study of leadership competence. We have learnt from this experience that the discussions based on a previously watched film helped us to reach a deeper reflection and gave us more ideas that will help prepare the ground for the introduction of future theories as well as the creation of knowledge in the area of business education.
