CAMPO-REDONDO, María. Comercial Film and Knowledge about the Process of Dying. Enlace [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.2, pp.95-107. ISSN 1690-7515.
Film as a technological resource to generate knowledge has begun to offer results. This article presents the results of insertion into movies in the generation of knowledge under two variants: a theoretical variant, which discusses the intersection between the technological era and the way to create knowledge, and an empirical variant, describing a proposal of didactic use of "commercial film" in order to analyze the meaning of death. Thus, the result is divided in five sub parts. First, it contextualizes the digital technology era in the creation of knowledge. Second, it highlights the advantages of using film in the transmission of knowledge, especially knowledge that is difficult to acquire experientially. Third, it describes the methodology used in an application of a didactic proposal carried on with students of Psychology Development courses, where the movie Antes de Partir was the stimulus upon which the discussion was organized and related to the end of the life cycle among human beings. Fourth, it synthesizes the most important findings about this research experience, in combining film and theoretical aspects related with the conceptualization of death. Finally, it highlights the virtues of the methods that were used.
