This article analyzes the experiences, opportunities, and challenges faced by students who benefit from the National Scholarship and Educational Loan Program. A qualitative methodology was used based on semi-structured interviews with university students who benefit from the program. The interviews addressed personal experiences and academic and cultural challenges through open-ended questions. The results indicate that students face significant challenges related to cultural, linguistic, and economic barriers. These include limited internet connectivity in rural areas, the centralization of the entrance exam in Lima, and the unequal quality of education in rural areas. Despite the inclusion efforts of the program, obstacles persist in equitable access to higher education. It concludes that scholarship programs promote interculturality and capacity development, but it is necessary to strengthen educational policies to better adapt to the cultural and linguistic needs of rural students. It is recommended to decentralize entrance exams, improve academic and economic support, and foster respect for cultural diversity in higher education institutions.
