ARIAS-CHAVEZ, Dennis; RAMOS-QUISPE, Teresa  and  POSTIGO-ZUMARAN, Julio E. Research Productivity in Doctoral Supervision: A Case Study. Areté [online]. 2025, vol.11, n.22, pp.150-168.  Epub Nov 17, 2025. ISSN 2443-4566.  https://doi.org/10.55560/arete.2025.22.11.10.

The objective of the present study is to describe the scientific production of thesis advisors of doctoral programs in education. For this, a descriptive and cross-sectional study of 29 universities located in the three regions of Peru was carried out. The sample was 203 doctoral advisors in education who worked between 2020 and 2022. Production in the Scopus database and the Google Scholar search engine was considered. The results indicate that national universities are those with the lowest publication averages of their advisors. The university with the best impact index (h) of its advisors is the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). As for the most productive advisors, these are concentrated in the Universidad Cesar Vallejo (UCV), while among the national universities that occupy the best position in the analysis, the Universidad Nacional de San Agustín de Arequipa (UNSA) stands out. It is concluded that the number of universities whose doctoral advisors in education with high scientific production is scarce.
