Teaching in higher education has been. changing over. time, giving rise to proposals than can be conceived as comprehensive for professional training that in increasingly in. line with the demands of societies. Hence, this article presents the results of the research. that aimed to analyze the opinion of teachers regarding their role in the development of soft skills, based on the identification of the strategies used to achieve this training and value. it gives to each of the. competencies that make up this construct. Using a case. study methodology, information was collected through the focus group technique from a sample of 12 teachers who worked in a private higher education institution. It was found that even when they consider it important to. carry out. this task, they face. serious. difficulties in consolidating these skills through training with the use of active methodologies, due to the. hybrid nature of the training offered. These challenges open other possibilities of inquiry for an analysis of other dimensions that intervene in this training process, especially from the perspective of the student body.
