This article addresses the problem of developing critical thinking in the teaching process and the importance of promoting it through innovative pedagogical approaches. The objective was to analyze how collaborative and cooperative learning can contribute to the development of critical thinking in students. A systematic literature review was conducted, examining case studies, longitudinal research, and relevant documents, following PRISMA guidelines to minimize bias. The results indicate that collaborative and cooperative learning, focused on organizational structures designed in educational planning, allows a combination of active methodologies projected by the teacher, positively related to the integration, understanding, and analysis of group work, achieving an increase in critical thinking. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of educators adopting transdisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches, promoting collaboration and teamwork to facilitate the development of essential critical competencies in the comprehensive training of students.
