Bullying is a socio-educational phenomenon that has been minimized in educational institutions, making the role of psychopathology invisible in understanding its causes and consequences. This study aimed to determine the relationship between psychopathological factors and the clinical consequences of bullying through a systematic review according to the guidelines of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). A search was conducted in different databases using keywords related to psychopathological factors and bullying. Following the eligibility criteria, 21 relevant articles were selected. The methodology consisted of a qualitative systematic review. The results show that anxiety, depression, isolation, aggression, and conduct and developmental disorders are related to the clinical consequences of bullying in the different roles involved. It is concluded that the knowledge of the functioning of the psyche allows for understanding the passive, assertive, and aggressive attitudes of children and adolescents, and their effect on bullying situations.
