Abstract
RODRIGUEZ YAGUAL, Cristhian Antonio and CALLE ZUNIGA, Roberto Luis. Strengthening Mathematical Logical Thinking in High School Students: Influence of the Moodle Platform. Rev. Sci. [online]. 2024, vol.9, n.33, pp.108-128. Epub May 11, 2025. ISSN 2542-2987. https://doi.org/10.29394/scientific.issn.2542-2987.2024.9.33.5.108-128.
Mathematical logical thinking is fundamental in secondary education, especially given the increasing educational digitalization. This research determined the influence of the Moodle platform on the development of mathematical logical thinking in tenth-grade students at an Ecuadorian educational unit. A quantitative methodology with quasi-experimental design was employed, applying a 12-session program to a sample of 60 students divided into control and experimental groups. An expert-validated checklist was used, distributed across three dimensions: organization - information - proportionality, equation contextualizations, and data management. Results showed significant improvement in the experimental group, reaching 70,00% at the achieved level compared to 46,7% in the control group, with statistically significant differences (p=0,015 < 0,05). The equation contextualization dimension showed the highest increase (76,7%). It is concluded that the Moodle platform significantly influences the development of mathematical logical thinking, especially in mathematical contextualization ability, suggesting its effectiveness as a pedagogical tool in secondary education.
