Participatory and democratic coexistence in Peruvian schools faces significant challenges, as evidenced by high rates of school violence recorded on the SíseVe platform. This article analyzes the state of participatory and democratic coexistence among basic education students in Peru during 2019-2023. Basic research was conducted with a descriptive qualitative approach, using systematic documentary review of 47 articles published in indexed journals and university repositories, of which 17 met the inclusion criteria for final analysis. Results identified five main dimensions: student participation, coexistence norms, responsibility, democracy, and conflict management. The analysis revealed that the level of participatory and democratic coexistence at the national level is regular, while in the Piura region it ranges from regular to poor. It is concluded that region-specific strategies need to be implemented to improve school coexistence, with special emphasis on strengthening student participation and conflict management.
