This research analyzes the relationship between burnout syndrome and job performance among judicial officers of the Accusatory Criminal System in Colón, Panama. Through a quantitative correlational study with a non-experimental design, the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) and the EVADEST questionnaire were applied to a sample of 97 officials. Results revealed medium-high levels of emotional exhaustion (2,70) and depersonalization (2,02), while low personal accomplishment reached very high levels (6,46). Job performance showed medium levels across all dimensions (6,4-6,8). Statistical analysis confirmed significant correlations between both variables: a strong negative correlation (-,778) between attitude toward the institution and low personal accomplishment, and a very strong positive correlation (,929) between emotional exhaustion and depersonalization. The syndrome's prevalence varies according to hierarchical level and specific functions. It is concluded that burnout negatively impacts the performance of judicial officers, evidencing the need to implement preventive and intervention strategies to improve occupational well-being and efficiency in the Panamanian judicial system.
