At the university level, digital education is gaining more and more ground every day. Therefore, the use of technology in education is no longer an option, at this time it is a first-order resource necessary to innovate. The present research aimed to describe ChatGPT as a viable resource for the development of critical thinking in university students. It refers to a descriptive research of documentary type with bibliographic design. As a conclusion, it is necessary to highlight that any element created that can contribute to the integral development of man will always be a valid resource, therefore, ChatGPT as a technological and innovative tool fits perfectly as an innovative resource, so that man improves and enhances his way of thinking critically and analytically, as long as he knows how to use it ethically and morally in society.
