The objective of this research was to apply a program for the improvement of motor skills in elementary school children through the technical fundamentals of soccer. It was framed in the quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. Fifty-two students participated in the experimental group and Fifty-two in the control group. Observation was used as a technique and the observation form as an instrument. The results, in relation to the experimental group, indicated that the motor skills of the children were 76.9% within the 'beginning' level and, subsequently, 51.9% within the 'outstanding achievement' level in the posttest; while in the control group, there were no major variations from pretest to posttest. Therefore, it is concluded that the implementation of a program based on soccer technical fundamentals improves the motor skills of elementary school students.
