GUTIERREZ-CUEVA, Carla Natalí e GUERRA-CASTELLANOS, Yetzy Beatriz. Cooperative games and mathematics skills in early childhood education: a systematic review. Cienciamatria [online]. 2024, vol.10, n.19, pp.245-262. Epub 30-Nov-2024. ISSN 2610-802X. https://doi.org/10.35381/cm.v10i19.1375.
The research was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the relationship between cooperative games and the development of mathematical competencies in early education. A systematic review and documentary analysis methodology was used by means of the PRISMA method, using the Boolean operators OR and AND. This made it possible to identify a total of 25 articles belonging to indexed journals. The results indicated that cooperative games constituted recreational activities designed for groups, whose approach improved competencies through social interaction. On the other hand, mathematical competencies were defined as the skills necessary to maintain and apply mathematical knowledge effectively in problem solving. The research concluded that cooperative games emerged as highly effective strategies to enhance mathematical competencies in early education, since they allowed optimizing students' mathematical skills in educational environments.
