Cienciamatria [online]. 2025, vol.11, n.20, pp.4-26. Epub 25-Abr-2025. ISSN 2542-3029. https://doi.org/10.35381/cm.v11i20.1518.
Work internships in Mexican universities are considered fundamental for the development of professional competencies, because they help students apply theoretical knowledge in a real environment. This study highlights the growing integration of these practices in academic training. The objective of the article is to systematize the literature review related to work practices in Mexican universities. In this sense, it is observed that the approaches to internships vary considerably among the different institutions, influenced by factors such as the educational mission, the type of career and the geographical region. Some universities prioritize technical training and direct relations with companies, while others focus on research or community service. This contrast reflects the diversity of the Mexican educational system and underscores the need for a more cohesive framework to ensure meaningful experiences for all students.
