Demotivation in high school students is a crucial issue, since it impacts their performance, attendance and academic trajectory, limiting their future development. This research article addresses this problem in 4th year students of the Liceo Nacional Cecilio Acosta de Coro, Falcón state, with the aim of identifying the main factors that generate it and proposing actions to reduce it in this educational context. The research, with a quantitative, descriptive approach and a non-experimental, field and cross-sectional design, used a questionnaire applied to 19 students selected by means of intentional sampling. The data collected were processed using descriptive statistical techniques. Finally, the findings show that factors such as stress, bullying, monotonous teaching methodologies and family conflicts act as triggers of academic demotivation, so it is essential to encourage the development of action plans to address this problem in a comprehensive manner.
