A systematic review was developed, with database search: Scielo, PubMed, Dialnet with the support of Google Scholar. The population was 128 documents, leaving a sample of 12 documents after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria. The main post-traumatic stress factors, signs, symptoms and strategies for the management of post-traumatic stress were identified. The importance of stress prevention strategies at three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary to mitigate the negative effects on the emotional, physical and social well-being of pediatric patients is evidenced.
