Renal disease, both acute and chronic, severely compromises kidney function, causing waste accumulation and complications. The aim of the research is to analyze nursing care in intermittent renal replacement therapy in critically ill patients with renal disease. In the systematic review, 495 documents were identified in databases such as PubMed, SciELO and Dialnet. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied respecting authorship in the selected articles. A final sample of 27 articles was selected following PRISMA guidelines. No conclusive evidence was shown on the superiority of intermittent therapy over other modalities. The most frequent complications included hypotension and hypertensive crisis, highlighting the importance of constant monitoring and continuous training of nursing staff to ensure patient safety.
