Hemodynamic monitoring is essential in the care of critically ill patients, since it allows cardiovascular function and tissue perfusion to be assessed in real time. The aim of the research is to analyze the competencies of the nursing professional in hemodynamic monitoring in critically ill patients. A systematic review was carried out, with a search of articles through Google Scholar, in the Scielo and PubMed databases, using inclusion and exclusion criteria, 65 studies were selected for analysis. Three competencies were identified for hemodynamic monitoring in the ICU: assistive, practical and cognitive. Practical competencies allow proper handling of monitoring equipment and rapid reaction to variations in parameters. Assistive competencies include humanized care and patient and family support. Cognitive competencies include in-depth knowledge of cardiovascular physiology and decision making.
