The article focuses on examining different philosophical currents in relation to epistemology, which over time have influenced the generation of knowledge, and using them as a basis for rethinking the formative and epistemic processes in the academic world. A narrative review of the literature was carried out, using documentary analysis, which allowed the systematization and collection of qualitative data from indexed scientific articles, selected according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. In particular, reconsidering university educational processes from the lens of epistemology and philosophical thinking not only enriches learning, but also gives students the ability to become autonomous thinkers, engaged citizens and creative innovators. This prepares them to effectively address the challenges of a continually changing world with confidence and competitive ability.
